About RacktivityRacktivity reduces datacenter energy consumption and maximizes uptime. The company was founded in 2008 by a management team that has extensive experience in the datacenter and hosting industry. Racktivity focuses on optimizing the physical infrastructure layer for energy management. Our customers save money through reduced energy consumption and CO2 emissions. They also benefit from increased uptime, through our focus on proactive disaster prevention and, if need be, substantially faster recovery. Racktivity's Rack Controller replaces dumb power distribution units with a programmable smart device that tracks energy use, temperature, humidity, airflow and rack security. It helps IT managers prevent and diagnose problems at the energy and environmental layer. Racktivity's Rack Controller system, including PCBs, schematics, firmware, case and software, was designed in-house in the company's research labs in Ghent. The company was founded in 2008 by Wilbert Ingels, CTO, who held senior management roles at Level 3 and Terremark. Serial entrepreneur Kristof De Spiegeleer seeded the company and now serves as its Chairman. Marco DeMiroz, with extensive experience in cleantech and energy fields as an executive and a venture investor, recently joined as President & CEO, and will expand its presence in the U.S. The Racktivity team has a proven track record in developing and bringing innovative technologies to a commercial success, including Datacenter Technologies (acquired by Symantec), Hostbasket (acquired by Telenet), Dedigate (acquired by Terremark) and Q-Layer (acquired by SUN Microsystems). The Belgian company received its first round of venture capital funding in 2009 from Big Bang Ventures. For more information, pricing or to place an order, contact us here. |
